Jett Kwong creates a truly imaginative experience with new dream-like visuals

Imagine having a tranquil soak in a scenic Japanese onsen. How would it make you feel? Would you be in pure bliss or feeling something else entirely? Jett Kwong’s wistful new single “Tokyo Bath” examines the idea that happiness comes from within not from your environment. The track features haunting vocals gliding atop twinkling soundscapes and uses stunning Chinese guzheng to craft a uniquely multi-faceted sound. The fanciful visuals show Kwong at a posh Hollywood Party, but she just can’t seem to enjoy herself. It’s an example again of how your emotions don’t always match your surroundings.

Jett Kwong’s music touches on personal themes such as her family and her identity as a mixed heritage woman. She admits, “Our identities are colored by the context in which we are in — the way we grow up, our appearance, and our basic interests and beliefs.” Through this belief, she seeks to find individuality. Empowered by women’s issues and political reform, her hope is to facilitate conversations that can evoke change. Watch the dreamy, transcendent visuals now.
