Forgiveness is a difficult thing. Forgiveness is almost impossible when someone tries to kill you. Malala ended up forgiving the very people that tried to end her life. In this, she teaches us the ultimate lesson of gratitude when she offers compassion for the Taliban who once tried to silence her. This grace and kindness are highlighted in Seth Glier’s new single “If It Wasn’t For You”. Seth confides, “The title was inspired by an answer Malala Yousafzai gave in a press conference after accepting her Noble Peace Prize. She was asked “what would you say to the two members of the Taliban who tried to kill you if you ever crossed paths with them again” and her answer was “I’d thank them because if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have the platform I have now to talk about women’s education.” I wouldn’t be who I am without the pain that others caused me so to deny them love is to deny myself of the same.”

Grammy-nominated Seth Glier is a multi-talented singer-songwriter, producer and instrumentalist. Besides writing “If It Wasn’t For You”, the singer has released many gorgeous tunes including “Stages” and “The Next Right Thing” among others. His acclaimed songs take influence from traditional roots music and experimental instrumentation creating soulfully masterful releases. Seth connects with fans through his eclectic and highly insightful artistry. Take a listen to his inspiring new single now.
